Smitten | Marissa Webb

Citron and sequins and suits oh my! The cool off-beat color combinations presented in Marissa Webb's debut collection have me seriously smitten!  The palette although mainly black and white is infused with the most beautiful shades of turquoise, chartreuse, pale pink and cherry red.  The olive green blazer tossed over the neon necktie blouse with matching sequined shorts is by far my favorite look but I'm also really digging the incredible watermark plaid print that ties the palette of the collection together. It's clear that  that my bank account is going to take a heavy blow when these pieces hit the stores next Spring!

And so my girl crush ensues...Bravo, Marissa!

Project R

Here is a little peek at the inspiration board for a project I recently completed.  We are waiting for pillows to be delivered and the vintage armchair to be recovered in a lovely blue velvet but I promise the second we have everything installed I will share pictures!

This project fits with this weekend fashion focus because when my client (lets call her R) and I first met we discussed our mutual love for Olivia Palermo's style.  When we started working together we determined that a new sofa was not in the budget so we would have to create a design around her existing furniture (the tan sofa and black sideboard). R was having a difficult time committing to a color palette -- the tan sofa was throwing her off -- so I showed her several images of Olivia wearing tan so she could have a better visual.  Out of the images I showed her she chose this tan, gray, black and blue ensemble.  Black and blue has always been one of my favorite color combos (I blogged about it here) and it seems to be popping up all over the Spring 2013 runway shows this week.  Jason Wu used it for several looks in his show this morning and so did Miu Miu.

So what do you think?  Do you like the way we translated the outfit into a room?
