Vintage Cabinet Envy

Well, I actually envy everything in this gorgeous Brentwood home designed by Estee Stanley (the co-founder of HomeMint) but it's the vintage cabinet in the living room that has me smitten!  I've decided I'm in desperate need of a similar piece for my home.  I absolutely love this late 19th century piece from Jayson Home--It's vintage French perfection and unfortunately for moi, the price reflects it. But fear not, I've found two fabulous alternatives: Restoration Hardware's Printmaker's Sideboard and Pom Pom Interiors' 8 Drawer Dresser.  How about that?  And before I conclude, can we just take a moment to discuss the cabinet's styling?  Leaning artwork makes everything better.

Mirrored Wall (Part II)

Turns out I'm not the only one with mirrored walls on my mind! Lonny launched their October issue this morning which features this gorgeous mirrored wall in the home of Lisa Sherry...and the best part of all is that they included a step-by-step tutorial on their blog! The Elephant in the Room

These elephant console tables have been popping up in many of my favorite designer's rooms lately so I was pleasantly surprised when I happened to stumble upon one while perusing Chicago's Craigslist last night. I don't currently have the space or need for an elephant in the room but I thought maybe one of my readers might be interested.  Any takers?

Strange Love

This ostrich print by David Eggers is just peculiar enough to be quite interesting, don't you think?  It was strange love at first sight so I was bummed when it ended up in another member's cart during Katie Fine's One Kings Lane sale last night.  But as they say, everything happens for a reason.  I ended up googling the artist and found out that Mr. Eggers is the founder of the indie publishing house McSweeney AND that this print is just one of the 26 prints you'll receive if you buy his book/portfolio, "It Is Right to Draw Their Fur: Animal Renderings".  I purchased the portfolio for $20 on the McSweeney website and saved myself $180...after framing it will be more like $100, lucky me!  I'm hoping some of the other prints are as strange and wall-worthy as this one! And it wouldn't be a proper ostrich post without sharing Michelle Adam's living room. Cute and quirky.  You can purchase this amazing ostrich wallpaper at The Wallpaper Collective.

My Topiary's Twin

I bought this topiary at Jayson Home and Garden a few weeks ago and it seems to be holding up quite well considering my fellow forgot to water it while I was in Maine. I think it adds the perfect dose of sophistication to my kitchen counter. I've had a thing for topiaries since I was a kid so I was pretty pumped when I spotted my topiary's twin in the new issue of Lonny.  Great minds think alike ;)

Little Lonny

Small is size but large is style!  The always chic team over at Lonny Magazine created a custom dollhouse for Curbed and the Dorothy Draper-esque result is unbelievable! With this small house what better time to share with you my dear reader(s) my borderline obsession with small objection.  Strange, yes! But I blame my childhood friend, Jennifer, for introducing me to the magical world of shrinky dinks at age 5.  Back to the house, while I have a soft spot for just about anything mini, I am especially loving the pint-size stripes, lucite, and zebra.  Sad to say, but I am a wee bit envious of the bedroom wall papered in classic Albert Hadley "Fireworks," it looks straight out of the pages of their magazine!
