Real Estate Stalking | Loving Love?

Look Familiar?  It should.  This four story West Village townhouse once belonged to Steven Gambrel and has graced the cover of Elle Decor and Steven's new book Time and Place.  I urge you to pull out your January/February 2009 issue of Elle Decor if you need to refresh your memory.  I did just that last night and to be honest, I don't know if I'm horrified or intrigued by Love's updates to the historic home.  It definitely has a more bohemian free-spirit feel to it.  The former dining room is now prayer room and Gambrel's iconic military jacket-inspired curtains now hang over small-scale Farrow and Ball Lotus paper.  Courtney made quite a few updates considering she only rented the home for 6 months.  You can read all about it over at xojane.  And if you happen to have an extra $11.4M laying around the house is up sale, check out the listing here.  Any takers?  I'd buy it if I could, the bones are perfection!  I want to marry those mouldings and lacquered doors.

Real Estate Stalking | Claiborne Swanson Frank

So I may have creeped out my sister yesterday afternoon when I sent her the real estate listing for Claiborne Swanson Frank's stylish New York apartment.  I tried to convince her that I was not stalking and that I just happened to stumbled upon it while looking at The Foo Dog Ate My Homework, but I don't think she believed I word I was saying.  See I was just trying to help a sista out.  Seriously.  My sister just recently purchased her first condo and Claiborne's living room is one of the only images she has pinned to her living room inspiration board on Pinterest.  So being the nice sister that I am, I thought she'd enjoy scoping out the unedited images from the real estate listing.

As much as I love looking at the beautiful/extremely styled images published in shelter magazines, I'd rather see how people really live. These pictures confirm that Claiborne does in fact own several tv's, she has a plethora of internet cords, she does not have central A/C, and she does not own the sunniest apartment in Manhattan. Yay!  She is just like the rest of us but has a killer art collection and amazing leopard stools. Does anyone else out there enjoy stalking real estate as much as I do or should I be enlisting in some sort of real estate stalkers anonymous group?  Take a look at the images from Elle Decor tell me which version of the apartment you prefer–styled or unstyled?

A Dreamy One Bedroom

While stalking Curbed Chicago last week I stumbled upon this absolutely dreamy one bedroom condo that's currently for sale. I've always thought that buying a one bedroom place was stupid and a waste of money but I'm honestly considering throwing all those thoughts out the window and going to take a peek at this gem. It's perfection, it has everything I want: original moldings, parquet floors, a modern kitchen, tons of natural light, lake views and sisal carpet. It looks like it belongs in Paris...It's so good that I may just forgo having kids.

Real Estate Stalking | Jenna Lyons

I'm in a state of real estate shock! Jenna Lyons is selling her perfect Park Slope Brooklyn townhouse and I don't have the funds to purchase it! I knew this day would come but I always thought it would be in the distant future when I have buku bucks in my bank account.  It's a sad, sad day.
